Wow it's JULY!!! I took the month of June to be with my family and revive my soul. I was ten and a half weeks pregnant and lost the baby. June was my break from all reality. Snuggled Up has remained in my heart and I have a lot of news to report....I just haven't been on this blog recently.
First, I received the $600 check from Springboro's Women in Faith. I have purchased 10 Snuggle Kits and have them stored at my school. I did contact one family that I knew was in need and the mother walked up to the school with a grocery cart and picked up 3 kits for her children. I am keeping the remaining kits at school awaiting the start of school in August. My plan is to send home notice to all parents and ask who is in need. I am also hoping to reach out to the rest of my district throughout the year.
Second, I spoke with the Northridge Optimist Club in May. They recently called me and they informed me that I would be receiving a $500 check....I got that today!!!!
Third, I was contacted by the Delta Kappa Sorority. They want me to come speak to their group in October to see how they can get involved with Snuggled Up Inc.
And Lastly, I finished the IRS paperwork and I am mailing it in tomorrow!! This was a long and slow process, but it's DONE!!!! It is 37 pages of paperwork that will enable me to have NON-PROFIT status with the IRS. I will be able to write receipts with this status and others can write donations to Snuggled Up Inc. off on their taxes. This status will also enable me to go to corporations, such as WalMart, Target, and other various stores and ask for monetary and item donations. The cost to file this paperwork is $300, I am happy to say that my Grandma and Grandpa (Mom-Mom and Pops) paid that fee for me....THANK YOU! I will not know for a couple of months if I will be granted Non-Profit status. It could take as little as one month to as long as 8 months. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it's quick.
The rest of July and August I am collecting items and housing them here at home. I am continuing to make Snuggle Kits to get ready for the beginning of school. Thank you to all who have spread the word and helped me to get where I am today. I am blessed to have such a loving group of friends and family.
Love to you all!
